Problem Statement

Smoke inhaled from biomass cooking in households is a major problem for many developing countries. We want to solve this problem by implementing insulated solar electric cookers (ISEC) in Uganda. However, it is hard to send people new technology and expect them to change their traditional ways and adopt the new technology without proper education on how it works and its benefits.

In order to combat this issue from the beginning, we have partnered with Chris Musasizi at the Beacon of Hope school. The goal is to create a club that will show the students how to construct the ISECs, how to fix them, what their benefits are, and how to use them.

In order to get the club up and running, Chris needs instructions and supplies. The group has collaborated with several other ISEC groups to create a video guide and instruction for Chris and his future club.
