Insulated Solar Electric Cookers

An Insulated Solar Electric Cooker, or ISEC for short, is an appropriate technology developed to create a non-biomass way of cooking in developing countries. It uses a solar panel as its sorce of power to generate heat. The heat created warms up the pots via diodes located on the bottom. The pots are kept in insulation to prevent heat from escape and allow them to get warm enough to cooking. The insulation also helps to keep the cooked food warm throughout the day.

This form of cooking doesn't emit smoking like the current main method of cooking in Uganda. It is essentially using the sun to generate heat for cooking, rather than fire.
